10 Things To Do While Under Quarantine

The Coronavirus pandemic took the world by surprise. I don’t think anyone can say they saw this coming. It is affecting every one of us in so many ways. Sporting events have been cancelled, concerts postponed, schools are being shut down, for the time being, social gatherings are discouraged too for all our good – that includes your favourite hangout. The Government and experts say everyone should stay at home to minimize the spread of the virus and reduce our risk of being exposed or infected.

All of these are important as the world tries to battle this global pandemic. Just one problem – what do you do now you have been confined to your home? Sounds easy I know but when you stay home a few days you’ll soon realize it’s not that easy – at least for some of us. Most people have spent so much time outside of their houses, only returning at night, they don’t know what to do now they have to spend so much time at home. So what do you do while under quarantine? That you have to stay at home doesn’t mean you should stay out of contact. You can still enjoy some form of social life on the phone. Call your friends and other members of your family – brothers, sisters, parents – anyone you have. Learn about what they’re doing, what’s going in their lives, how they are. Just talk with them, there’s always so much to discuss with your loved ones, family members and friends. The global pandemic has brought fears on most people. You shouldn’t be, and you can help allay the fears of your friends and loved ones.

We're usually so busy we don't have time to meditate or pray. There’s no better time than now to do this. Draw close to God. Spend time alone meditating, praying and doing everything that will bring you closer to God. The world currently needs all the help it can get. The government and health bodies are doing what they can, but till there’s a solution, let’s pray, meditate and get close to God. Start now and continue even after we’re all free to return to our normal lives.
